Auckland Council’s Holiday Parks are seeking a fixed-term full-time Holiday Park Assistant to join their Martin’s Bay Holiday Park team until February 2027.

 


You will work on a roster across seven days, as the park operates seven days a week from 8am – 8 pm, including weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods. 
Our busiest time of year is during the summer season; therefore, flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, additional shifts, and varying hours is essential.

 


We are seeking a hands-on, versatile, friendly people person who is used to a busy work environment, is an effective team member and who can assist with the day-to-day operation of the Holiday Park.  

 

You could expect to work on:
•    Front of house customer service, reception and administrative duties
•    Being the face of the business, welcoming guests and helping them familiarise themselves with the park and local area.
•    Answer enquiries and process bookings and payments received online, by email, phone and in person.
•    Create and manage customer bookings in our booking system, including data entry, receipting and processing payments and sales.
•    Open and close reception as required, including ensuring the reception area is ready for guests and secure at the end of the day.
•    Support general cleaning duties, including assisting with housekeeping and maintaining guest amenities and facilities.
•    Assist with light grounds and facilities maintenance and other day-to-day park operations as required.
•    Be flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed to help keep the park running smoothly, particularly our busy summer period.

The role pays a living wage of $29.90 per hour based on skills and proven relevant experience.

This role also provides support across all areas of park operations and may be required to assist within the wider Holiday Parks portfolio at other parks and sites as business needs require.

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

You will be confident with administration and reception duties and have experience with cash handling as well as an ability to use your initiative to resolve both operational and maintenance issues as they arise.  

 

We are seeking a superstar who has:
•    Customer service, administrative/reception experience, with advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite software skills and proficiencies: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and PMS booking systems
•    Excellent communication and confident interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with strong problem-solving abilities.
•    Flexibility to work rosters (including weekends and public holidays), as a positive team member and autonomously
•    Enthusiastic and approachable demeanour with a customer-focused approach, can-do attitude and remain calm under pressure or when dealing with challenging customers
•    Ability and capacity to continually learn new skills, systems and processes quickly
•    NZ Full Class 1 driver’s licence is preferred; we do expect a restricted licence at the minimum
•    Hospitality, tourism experience along with practical hands-on cleaning or maintenance background would be advantageous, but not essential.
