Parks, recreation and culture jobs

WHAT DO RANGERS DO FOR AUCKLAND?

Rangers enable safe and enjoyable outdoor recreation and education experiences in regional park settings, while conserving and protecting natural wildlife and cultural heritage resources.  Rangers work alongside contractors, manage volunteers to complete practical work in the parks, like animal pest control operations, weed treatment, nursery work, and farming.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU

We have high numbers of visitors during the summer period. We need you to assist Rangers in concentrating on our visitors and aid with day to day duties on parks. Summer Rangers split work load, replace staff over holiday periods, and create a learning experience for the company and the supervisors. Summer Rangers inspire staff and create opportunities for future employment into Auckland Council.

Regional parks Student Rangers get paid to spend the summer outdoors, have the option of accommodation provided,4 WD training  and get an NZQA qualifications once the programme is completed.
