We are looking for Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to join the amazing team at the zoo. In this role you will be responsible for the effective delivery of medium to large capital works projects under the direction of the Programme Manager.   Role within the team will require mentoring and coaching of peers, acting as a point of contact for technical advice, management of more complex or critical projects and small programmes, and assisting the Capital Programme Manager with team development, strategic planning and delivery of the overall capital programme.

 

This role supports the objectives of the Department by contributing towards the implementation of the Zoo’s Master Plan and delivery of the Zoo’s annual CAPEX budget.  You will ensure projects meet the needs and requirements of Auckland Zoo and all identified stakeholders in terms of deliverables, operational requirements, animal welfare and visitor services.

You will have strong portfolio, programme and project management and prioritisation skills together with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-organisational projects involving multiple stakeholders, business units within a matrix organisational structure.

 

You have the ability to strengthen and nurture key responsibilities within the different stakeholders.  You are excellent at building trust and strong partnerships with multiple stakeholders and have a good understanding of the construction industry including risk management, compliance and regulatory requirements.
