1 year Fixed-term / Secondement Team Leader Aquatics | West Wave 
He angitūtanga: The opportunity

West Wave is one of New Zealand’s Leading Aquatic Facilities, as Team Leader Aquatics, you will play a key part in improving the customer experience for all Aucklanders who visit our Centre to another level.

You will be responsible for, and not limited to:

  • Effectively leading the day-to-day operation of the Aquatics team, including the safe supervision of our pools and operation of our Aquatic services. 
  • Responsible for leading, coaching and engaging a team of Lead Lifeguards and Lifeguards.
  • Ensuring hazard management plans, policy, processes, and training are effectively managed and there is ongoing compliance within the team. 
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to proactively identify and, where appropriate, implement ways to improve customer experience and grow participation.

 

This is a fixed-term / secondment Full-time opportunity. 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

You will have strong people leadership experience as well as management experience in similar Aquatic environments.  Joining an energetic and passionate team, you will be an influential leader with experience managing and developing a high-performing team within a leisure facility.  You will also ensure that employees' physical and mental well-being is always prioritised. 

It is preferred that you hold a current Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and have pool plant management and operations experience.

As the centre operates 7 days a week, reliability, and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial.  You'll be working 40 hours per week, mostly Monday to Friday with weekend work rostered if required.
