He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Arataki Visitor Centre is seeking a friendly and motivated Summer Visitor Services Representative for a 3-month fixed term.
This role involves a 5-day work week, including weekends and public holidays, as Arataki Visitor Centre operates 364 days a year. The likely rostered shift is Wednesday to Sunday, so flexibility and a passion for engaging with people are key.
This is a fixed term and full-time position with 40 hours per week, paying $28.95 per hour. The fixed term duration is 12th November 2025 – 22nd February 2026.

Join the team at one of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s most treasured natural playgrounds, where your mahi will help visitors connect with nature and deepen their understanding of our Regional Parks.
As a key ambassador for Auckland Council and Regional Parks, you’ll provide engaging, informative experiences while fostering strong relationships with the local community. Your focus will be on sharing the rich stories, ecology, and recreational opportunities of the Waitākere Ranges and surrounding parks.
Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities
- Assisting visitors with track information and local highlights
- Supporting and delivering activities, crafts, events, and school holiday programmes
- Managing bookings and general enquiries for activities and community groups
- Providing excellent customer service at the Arataki retail store
- Upholding and demonstrating Manaakitanga in every interaction
He kōrero mōu: About you
Your background will include customer service, ideally gained in Tourism, Hospitality, Events, or other Service industries.
You’ll be a great team player and will be able to demonstrate:
- A real passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with MS Office applications
- A full, clean and valid New Zealand driver’s licence
- Knowledge of Te Reo Māori – this would be a strong advantage
