He angitūtanga: The opportunity 


Arataki Visitor Centre is seeking a friendly and motivated Summer Visitor Services Representative to create exceptional experiences for visitors in the stunning Waitākere Ranges, one of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s favourite playgrounds. Your contributions will also help foster positive relationships with the local community.


This position involves a 5-day work week working, including weekends and public holidays throughout the summer season as the Arataki Visitor Centre is a 364-day operation. The potential rostered shift is Tuesday – Saturday.
 

You will primarily focus on delivering comprehensive information about Auckland Council Regional Parks, particularly the Waitākere Ranges.

 

What you expect on a day-to-day basis:

 

  • Assisting visitors with track information (where to go and what to see) 
  • Manage and support with activities, crafts, events and school holiday programmes 
  • Taking bookings for activities, community groups and general enquiries
  • Provide excellent customer service and support with visitors at the retail store

He kōrero mōu: About you
 
Your background would include customer service, which may have been gained in the Tourism, Hospitality, Events or other Service industries.

You’ll be a great team player, and will be able to demonstrate:
 

  • Real passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Computer literacy: MS Office applications 
  • A full, clean and valid New Zealand driver's licence 
  • Knowledge of Te Reo would be advantageous

The Arataki Visitor Centre is a popular location for tourists and locals alike. We are a passionate team that delivers great customer service and produces community-focused events while providing a supportive work environment. 
 
This is a fixed term and full-time position with 40 hours per week, paying $27.80 per hour. The fixed term duration is 12th November 2024 – 14th February 2025.
