He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Licensing and Compliance department has an opportunity for a Senior Compliance Officer to join the Compliance Response & Investigations team.

This is a critical role for Council and will focus on responding to complex regulatory issues across West Auckland, carrying out investigations and supporting resolution through education, remediation and enforcement activities under the Resource Management Act, Building Act and relevant Council Bylaws.

 

You could expect to work on:

  • Managing complex cases and applying legislation, policies and processes to support sound decision-making.
  • Engaging with customers, businesses and stakeholders to provide guidance and resolve issues.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies on regulatory matters.
  • Keeping customers informed and ensuring cases are progressed effectively.
  • Sharing knowledge and contributing to improvements across the team.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires experience in the regulatory compliance and investigations space. You will have experience working in complex environments where sound judgement, legislation and effective decision-making are essential.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in compliance, regulation, investigations or a related field.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in compliance, resource management, building, construction, law or science.
  • Knowledge of the Resource Management Act, Building Act and relevant Council Bylaws.
  • Experience working within a regulatory, government or enforcement environment.
  • A current New Zealand Driver Licence and experience using Microsoft Office applications.

This role has a remuneration range of $88,000 to $104,000 per annum.
Our employer KiwiSaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
