This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to step into the role of Manager Community Hub – New Lynn on a fixed-term basis through to September 2027.
New Lynn Community Hub is one of Auckland's busiest and most diverse community destinations, bringing together library services, community programmes, venue hire, and events that support learning, connection, and belonging.
You will lead a dynamic, talented and high-performing team of 19 staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and excellence in customer and community experiences.
This is a fixed-term opportunity through to September 2027, offering a unique chance to make a meaningful contribution to one of Auckland's most vibrant and diverse communities while further developing your leadership capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day operational leadership of the library and community centre, including responsibility for staffing and financial resources.
- Building on the success and reputation of one of Auckland's leading community hubs.
- Managing programming budgets and ensuring effective financial oversight.
- Facilitating and growing community and partner-led activities that respond to local needs and aspirations.
- Working closely with community stakeholders and partners to strengthen relationships and maximise community impact.
- Supporting the priorities and outcomes of the Whau Local Board and ensuring services meet the needs of the diverse communities of West Auckland.
- Leading recruitment, induction, coaching, and ongoing development of staff.
- Creating a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and high-performing environment for customers and staff.
- Leading and developing staff to deliver exceptional visitor and community experiences.
