We have an exciting opportunity for three enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Henderson-Massey Libraries team as Libraries & Council Services Assistants.

As a member of our wider Henderson-Massey library whānau, you will work across multiple library locations, supporting communities to access library collections, programmes, technology, and council services. These roles provide a great opportunity to build relationships across different sites, develop a broad range of skills, and contribute to a connected, high-performing team.

As a front-facing customer service role, you'll engage with people from all walks of life, helping them access information, resources, and services while creating positive customer experiences.

Available positions

 

These roles will be covering shifts at Te Manawa Hub, Te Atatū Hub, Waitakere Central Library & Ranui Library. 

 

We are looking for someone flexible to fill the following positions: 

 

  • One permanent part-time 26-hour position working across sites Wednesday to Saturday. 
  • One permanent part-time 22-hour position working across sites Friday, Sunday and Monday.  
  • One permanent part-time 18-hour position working across sites Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service across library, venue hire and council services
  • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues at the first point of contact whenever possible
  • Support customers to use self-service technology, library resources, and digital services confidently
  • Assist customers to access council services through available tools and platforms
  • Provide information and guidance on library collections and resources across multiple formats
  • Ensure collections are accessible, well-presented, and in good condition
  • Contribute to the daily operational activities of the library as part of a collaborative team
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology, library services, and customer support practices

A full, clean NZ drivers licence and the ability to travel to each mentioned site will be essential.

Salary: This role is salary band E, starting from $67k depending on experience.
