He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Two fantastic opportunities have arisen to work as a Library & Council Services Assistant based in Rodney West at the Helensville Library and Service Centre.

 

Helensville Library and Service Centre is an integrated site, and, in this customer focused role, you will be contributing to the day to day running of our front-line library and council services. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and customers to enable a great experience. We want to be known for our outstanding customer service.  You will be working closely with our local community through a range of programmes and services, from children's activities and adult programmes that are driven by community need through to taking rates payments and lodging applications.


These are permanent 20-hour part-time positions, that includes Saturdays and are currently worked at Helensville Library and Service Centre but do require flexibility as you may be working across the Rodney West Local Board libraries.

 We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Evidence of working with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds
  • Comfortable with technology and able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices that are available at the library
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Willing to work with the team in the delivery of programmes and events
  • Flexible and collaborative approach to your work
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills as our business evolves
