Love libraries? Passionate about people? Ready to make a real impact? An opportunity has arisen to work as a Library & Council Service Assistant in the Whau Local Board Local Board.

 

This is a parental leave cover position from 28th June 2025 to 30th January 2026 working 22 hours a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, based at Avondale Library. In this customer-focused role, you will be contributing to the day to day running of the library and front-line library service. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and customers to create a great experience. You will be working closely with our local community supporting and/or delivering exciting programmes and activities that are driven by community need.

 

Your mahi will include supporting day-to-day operations and the development and delivery of programmes driven by community needs. Every day is different which is what makes it fun!

You will have strong people skills, are flexible and adaptable to our library environment. You have a passion for customer service with a positive attitude towards serving people of all ages and backgrounds. You are eager to learn new skills and thrive in a busy work environment.
