Auckland Council’s Community Wellbeing department has an opportunity for a Librarian to join the Community Delivery team at the New Lynn Hub.

 

This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on delivering exceptional customer service, supporting community engagement, and promoting literacy and digital inclusion.

 

You could expect to work on:

•    Supporting customers with library and digital resources
•    Delivering and promoting community programmes and events
•    Building relationships with local iwi, Pasifika, and community groups
•    Championing te reo Māori and cultural responsiveness
•    Supporting outreach, co-design, and inclusive service delivery

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

This role requires experience in the library and community engagement space. You will have experience in similar roles within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.

 

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

•    Recognised library or relevant tertiary qualification (LIANZA registration preferred)
•    3+ years’ experience in libraries or related fields
•    Strong digital and information literacy
•    Experience working with diverse communities, including Māori and Pasifika
•    Knowledge of library systems, privacy principles, and collection management
