Librarian Children & Youth

An exciting opportunity is now available for someone to join our team as a Librarian Children & Youth in the Waitākere Ranges Local Board, currently based at Titirangi Library. 

 

This is a permanent 40-hour position with flexibility required to work across our six day a week service.  

 

He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

This role is vital for connecting children, youth, and whānau with library services and programmes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering programmes and events for tamariki and rangatahi which are innovative and promote our libraries as vibrant community spaces.   

 

Providing opportunities to work collaboratively across the Waitākere Ranges Local Board area and alongside our local community this is an opportunity to implement exciting outreach initiatives to community groups, local schools, and early childhood centres. 

 

This role also has additional responsibilities in supporting the team with the day to day running of the library service, along with supervisory and administrative responsibilities as required.  

 

He kōrero mōu: About you 

You will bring with you a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, enthusiasm, and an ability to collaborate in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes. As this is a role that involves working with children and youth and their families, you will have the natural ability to relate well with people of all ages and backgrounds, excellent communication, and strong digital and readers advisory skills are essential.
