Join West Wave Pools and Leisure Centre as Fitness Leads, where you'll play a key role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging experience for our customers.
In these roles, you will support the Team Leader Fitness, assisting with the onboarding, training, and development of a team of Group Fitness Instructors and Fitness Consultants who are passionate about helping people stay active and healthy.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting the Team Leader with onboarding and training new fitness staff
- Designing and delivering outreach programmes to engage the community and increase participation
- Providing technical and functional expertise on fitness services, programmes, and processes
- Covering Group Fitness (GF) classes when required
- Managing debt recovery processes related to fitness memberships
These are permanent full-time (40 hours per week) roles working either Sunday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Saturday (Tue - Thu 1:15pm - 9:45pm ; Fri, Sat 9am - 5:30pm).
The shifts are subject to change according to the roster and the needs of the centre, so flexibility is essential.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You’ll have experience managing a team within the health and fitness industry and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Group Fitness experience (e.g. BoxFit, HIIT or stretching and mobility)
- Personal Training experience
- A New Zealand-recognised fitness qualification (REPs registered)
- A current First Aid certificate
Your leadership skills, passion for fitness, and ability to inspire others will be key to helping your team exceed expectations. Strong communication skills, a commitment to delivering exceptional fitness programmes, and customer service excellence are essential.
Being tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel will also be an advantage.
