He angitūtanga: The opportunity

The Content and Communications Assistant is one of 10 positions within Auckland Zoo’s Marketing & Communications department that is collectively responsible for managing the Zoo’s brand, internal and external communications, driving visitation to and engagement with the Zoo, and developing and managing the Zoo’s portfolio of corporate and community partners. 

This role reports to the Content and Social Media Manager and will support the creation of Auckland Zoo’s content. Key responsibilities for this role include; internal communications; uploading, scheduling and at times creating: written, audio and visual content for our website, digital noticeboards or social channels; maintaining content on Auckland Zoo’s intranet (Manawa); liaising with staff and coordinating content for our fortnightly staff newsletter Zoo News and zoo-wide presentations.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You will have solid administration skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment, where your attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills will be paramount to your success. It is preferred that you will have experience and/or a degree in marketing, communications or public relations. Entry level experience in social media, website CMS, Photoshop and writing for the web is advantageous!

The ideal candidate would have interests that include: a passion for conservation, sustainability and the environment, pressing environmental issues, video & photography and ambition to develop their skills within a leading conservation organisation.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours Monday to Friday but may be required to undertake occasional work outside of normal office hours to fulfil the Zoo’s media and communications requirements.
