We're looking for a team player to join our Operations Division at the Waikumete Cemetery. Waikumete is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest burial ground for service personnel of the World Wars and post-war veterans. You will be part of a passionate and experienced team who deliver a service that ensures our community's needs are met and exceeded during the most difficult time.


In this role, you will also be responsible for: 
•    Adornment management
•    After burial care
•    General grounds maintenance priorities

He kōrero mōu: About you


As a Sexton, you will be part of our burial team with a variety of cemetery operational tasks including burial preparation, attending burials, and assisting in the crematorium. The job may involve the possibility of doing chapel assistant roles if needed.

Proven organisational skills is essential to the smooth running of our burial process, chapel, and crematorium facilities. You will be assisting families with parking, advising on any health and safety requirements and most importantly, ensuring families feel comfortable and are well attended to.

This is a permanent position with a 40 hour week  + overtime as required. Uniforms, training and equipment will be provided.
