He angitūtanga: The opportunity  

You will work within the Dog Control Act 1996 and Council policies and procedures to monitor dog compliance on West coast beaches; educate the public on dog bylaws and increase public awareness of local protected wildlife and nesting shorebirds, collaborate with stakeholders and work with local communities to provide education and direction that will encourage proactive compliance, provide requirements for proactive patrolling.
 

You will work in the community with a significant education focus.

 

This role is variable 24/7 morning and evening roster with weekend work.

We need a conscientious person like you to ensure public safety and compliance.  The key to your success is a proactive attitude and providing exceptional service.

 

This role suits individuals with public-facing compliance backgrounds, who demonstrate strong customer service and conflict management skills, and a calm approach to resolving situations. 

 

A current, full clean NZ driver’s licence is required. Area scope of this role is the West coast beaches of Piha, Anawhata, Bethells (Te Henga) and Karekare (including the Whatipū scientific area) and occasionally other West Auckland beaches however you will be based out of Henderson.
