Auckland Council’s Parks & Community Service department have an opportunity for friendly, reliable, resilient, and practical people to join their team at Whangateau Holiday Park. We are seeking a enthusiastic and customer focused person to join our team as 3-month fixed term part time (36 hrs) Night Caretaker. The fixed term duration is 17th November 2025 to 10th February 2026.

 

We’re looking for a team member who can commit to a night shift roster, with flexibility to work any night of the week if required. Shifts will include Sunday – Tuesday nights from 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

 

The Park is open 7 days a week including public and school holidays, we are especially busy throughout the summer months, so having the ability to work flexible hours, weekends, public holidays, and additional shifts is required.

This role will see you working in a unique coastal setting where you will support the team in providing a memorable experience for all our guests. It offers you variety and plenty of opportunity to help improve services.

 

Having a friendly and calm personality is important as you will be the point of contact for guests as well as other staff throughout these night shifts. You’ll be working closely with an amazing collaborative team to ensure our guests’ have a positive and memorable experience with us.

 

 

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities

 

 

  • Undertaking park security and managing noise levels
  • Assist guests with late check-ins and provide support during the night when required
  • Administrative duties including locking up.
  • General cleaning duties

Ideally applicants will have experience in either a security, hospitality or caretaker role and have passion for customer service. You will be self-motivated, enjoy working both alone and as part of a team. As you’ll frequently be interacting with guests’ strong communication skills are a must.
