We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Libraries & Council Services Assistant at Waiheke Library. 

 He angitūtanga: The opportunity


This 20 hours per week role is worked on a variable schedule. Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend days is required.


The current roster for this role is Sundays 10-2, Mondays 9-6 and Fridays 9-6


We are a focused and committed team who takes pride in creating a wonderful customer experience.


You will contribute to the day to day running of the library, support library programming, contribute to our childrens’ services and answer a wide range of enquiries from customers.

You relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds, are resilient, have a flexible and collaborative approach to your work, excellent communication, along with strong digital and readers advisory skills.


You are someone who takes pride in providing an outstanding level of customer service and are keen to learn new skills and new ways to engage with our diverse and vibrant community.

Digital troubleshooting is an important part of this role, and you will be expected to be familiar with digital technology and have the ability to support customers to successfully use information resources, technology, and a variety of devices.
