He angitūtanga: The opportunity


An opportunity has arisen to become part of the Waiheke Library team as a Libraries & Council Service Assistant, for a fixed term contract over summer.

There are two roles available, both fixed term part-time positions from 7 December 2024 – 31 March 2025:

 

  • 22 hours per week Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
  • 30 hours per week Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

We are a focused and committed team who take pride in delivering excellence in customer experience. Our libraries and council service assistants play a vital role in contributing to digital literacy, community connection, and reading programmes with our tamariki and rangatahi.

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

You will have strong people skills, are flexible and adaptable to our learning library environment. You have a passion for customer service with a positive attitude to serving people of all ages and backgrounds.  You are eager to learn new skills and thrive in a busy work environment.

 

We are looking for a team member who:

 

  • Demonstrates an understanding of Te Ao Māori values and principles
  • Understands and uses technology with confidence
  • Is reliable, enjoys fostering great relationships with our community
  • Can demonstrate experience working with a diverse range of people, including children and young people
  • Demonstrates excellent written and communication skill
