He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

Māngere Community Hub team is seeking a Venue Lead – to manage and coordinate Whare Koa Community House. This role will oversee a wide range of activities and creative community programmes including but not limited to community partnerships, market days, community hub events, workshops and school holiday events. A key focus is to develop strong community relationships to ensure that we are responsive to the desires and aspirations of the local community, and to lead the development, promotion, and delivery of a range of creative and community experiences.
 
As a Venue Lead, your role will also work alongside the Whare Koa Community House staff, and community hub teams to provide support to the Māngere Community Hub Manager, hold key stakeholder relationships and manage business functions such as procurement, contract management, administrative and programming processes. 


He kōrero mōu: About you

You will have demonstrated effectiveness in building and strengthening community and stakeholder relationships especially at the community grassroots level. You will have the drive, focus and initiative to produce creative and community experiences that support and empowers local community. 
 
Alongside your leadership experience you will bring with you project/programme planning and coordination capabilities. Your solid relationship building/management skills along with some knowledge and or experience in the creative arts sector is beneficial.
 
You are a strong team player and leader who craves to make a meaningful impact in the local community.
 
You understand the importance of relationships with Mana Whenua in Tāmaki Makaurau and are committed to the recognition of Te Ao Māori in this role.

 

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

This is a fixed term, 40 hours per week opportunity, rostered from Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to support Hub wide events on Saturdays.
 
Based at the Whare Koa Community House and as part of the Māngere Community Hub team, serving the Māngere/Otāhuhu Local Board area, you will be offered the opportunity to make a  positive impact in the community.

We are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary of between $88,528 to $100,000 per annum, depending upon experience.
