Team Leader - Cemetery Services

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

You will be responsible for operational excellence in the delivery of all burial and cremation services.  Critical operational tasks include: workforce planning, maintenance of plant and equipment, the management of contractors and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of services whilst taking into account the sensitivity of the bereaved who have entrusted their loved ones into this special place

There are also provisions to ensure we comply with statutory requirements, Council policies, By-laws and health & safety.  Managing a number of key stakeholder relationships is also a large part of the roles.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, with some weekend hours and flexibility for overtime as and when required, to meet the needs of the business.

He kōrero mōu: About you

We're looking for individuals who appreciate developing and improving systems and processes. It is important that you're motivated, flexible, and a well-presented person to support the business and operational planning and management of the cemetery operations team, at our South sector cemeteries. Your ability to motivate and lead our Sexton team is also critical to success in this role.

With 2-3 years managing / supervising a "hands-on" operations work team, you would preferably have experience in cemetery and crematorium operations and frontline customer service role.  Your experience with budget management and analysis, along with good level of computer operating skills and strong background in health and safety requirements will be key.  A clean, full NZ driver's licence required (HT class 2 licence is advantageous).
