Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is dedicated to making great places Aucklander’s love by supporting several related services such as asset maintenance, management and renewals of Parks, Open Spaces, Buildings, Facilities, Conservation Areas and Urban Ngahere (forest). As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities and environment while also delivering strategically significant programmes.
If you are passionate about built spaces, turf and playing surfaces that enhance sports play across Auckland, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. As a Senior Sports Maintenance Delivery Coordinator you’ll oversee the delivery of effective and efficient day to day facility management across our sports parks in the Southern region.
In this role, you’ll specialise in sports field management, coordinate maintenance across sports park assets, drive robust Health and Safety practices and become the “go to” subject matter expert in your given area for sports fields management and maintenance. You’ll drive continuous improvement, manage sports field renovation budgets and ensure maximisation of value for money and quality while developing and maintaining excellent customer experience and stakeholder relationships.

You’ll have proven relevant experience in sports field management and maintenance alongside expertise in practical asset operational management. As well as demonstrable technical knowledge in built and open space management and health and safety, as a strong team player – you’ll be solutions focused with the ability to take a challenge.
As a successful self-starter, you’ll know your assets and how they perform and be the subject matter expert for Auckland Council colleagues as well as for elected members and sports clubs who operate on our sites. As a great communicator and strong collaborator, you’ll have the ability to make decisions on the spot, and bring with you capability in report writing and analysis, budget management and financial tracking.

You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
