We are happy to share an exciting opportunity for a Senior Library and Council Services Assistant role.
This is a fixed term 30-hour role, work schedule is Saturday (6.5 hrs) , Monday (8 hrs) , Thursday (8 hrs) and Friday (7.5 hrs), currently based at the Mangere Town Centre Community Library.
We are open six days, so flexibility is required. You will also be required to work at the other libraries in the Māngere - Ōtāhuhu Local Board as needed.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
This is a great opportunity to build on the experience you have already gained in libraries or programming. In this role you can take part in large scale programming alongside the library team.
You will support the team to deliver outstanding customer service while also taking on senior duties within the team. This 30-hour role is vital for connecting our communities and whānau with services and programmes in the Māngere - Ōtāhuhu Local Board libraries.

We are looking for someone who can:
• Build and maintain relationships and support the team to develop, deliver, and promote Library services
• Share a strong people focused and empathy driven work ethic
• Provide excellent customer service and provide a high quality day-to-day frontline library service
• Understand and use technology with confidence, able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices
• Work collaboratively with teams in the Māngere - Ōtāhuhu Local Board sharing skills, knowledge and expertise
• Show drive and has curiosity to bridge cross-cultural connections and communities.
• Relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Model a positive attitude and show pride in their work
• Be flexible, reliable and have a collaborative approach
• Be a senior on site, understanding health and safety protocols
• Proficiency in Te Reo Māori, or another Pasifika language will be advantageous
