He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Come join our community focused libraries that prides itself on providing exceptional programmes and delivering outstanding customer service. We are currently looking for a new team member who has the confidence and creativity to engage with Pasifika whanau across the local board.

 

In this role you will develop, deliver and promote Pasifika services both in the library and through outreach programmes. You will work closely with Librarians in the local board, championing Pasifika initiatives while also being a valued member of the Mangere-Otahuhu Library Teams. These include Mangere Bridge, Mangere Town, Mangere East and Otahuhu Library teams.

 

This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 36 hours per week. Roster includes Saturday and four weekdays, with potential late-night shifts.

Our library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend is required. 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspired and excited about working with our Pasifika community. Strong communication and digital skills are a must, as well as an ability to foster literacy and community engagement.

 

A team member who can demonstrate an ability to:

  • Build and maintain relationships with local diverse groups, including our Māori, Pasifika and new migrant communities
  • Develop strong partnerships with various stakeholders
  • Be the senior on site and have capability, capacity and confidence to lead when required
  • Support diverse community needs and engage under-served parts of the local communities
  • Work collaboratively with teams in the Local Board, sharing skills, knowledge and expertise
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including supporting customers to use a wide range of library and non-library resources, navigating literacy and social vulnerability issues
  • Keep up to date with current technology to support customers with access to resources in all formats

Salary: 65,850k/a (depending on skills and experience)
