He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The role of a Senior CCC Assessor is to ensure that delivery of building consent processing and inspection services and code compliance certificate applications is achieved in an effective, efficient, and coordinated manner which follows a policy that guarantees that the building work is carried out in accordance with the Building Code.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that all Territorial Authority and Building Consent Authority accreditation requirements are met in the delivery of the Code Compliance services, by maintaining ongoing compliance with BCA policies and procedures. You will be an integral part of the day-to-day business operations of the team and key support to the team manager in a challenging and fast moving construction sector.
The role will be responsible for assessing and reviewing building consent records (plans, building consent conditions, and inspection records) prior to the final inspection and issue of the Code Compliance Certificate and ensures Auckland Council is satisfied on reasonable grounds that compliance has been achieved with the approved building consent and legislative requirements. You will provide technical advice, support, and guidance to our customers to ensure to assist them through the final stages of their construction projects.

Your comprehensive understanding of local government legislation and council practices enables you to navigate complexities with ease, providing valuable insights and solutions to support our operational objectives.
We will also be looking for:
- Demonstrated understanding of the multiple disciplines within the building industry and the integration between job requirements and relationships with different professional groups
- Customer focused attitude with commitment to continuous improvement
- Minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience in all aspects of construction or related industry particularly in complex building environments
- Strong knowledge of the Building Act 2004 and the Building Regulations and Codes
- Recognised qualification as set out by MBIE under Regulation 18 of the Building Regulation 2006 (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities), along with practical experience in a building-related field
- Current or previous competency as set out by MBIE under Regulation 10 of the Building Regulation 2006 (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities)

The remuneration range for this role is $102,595 - $108,000 (Based on skills & experience)
