Keen to get hands-on with native plants and make a difference for our whenua?

Auckland Botanic Gardens, located in Manurewa, has 2x opportunities for rangatahi to join the Nursery team. Assist with seedling care, potting, weeding, and preparing plants for planting, while supporting nursery production and quality standards.

These are part time (32 hours) and 10 week fixed-terms from 5th October till 14th December.  Potential roster can would be from Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm or 7:30am – 4:00pm, 40 hours per week, $29.90/hour.

Ko wai koe? You love working with plants and are ready to roll up your sleeves, learn, and take on new challenges.

The ideal candidate:

• Has a passion for horticulture and native plants, and is eager to develop practical nursery skills
• At least 2 years’ experience in potting, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards
• The ability to quickly learn new tasks and progress to more advanced responsibilities as skills develop
• Is keen to learn about native species used in revegetation
• Works well as part of a team, but can also take initiative and complete tasks independently
• Brings a positive attitude, pride in your mahi, and a commitment to growing your skills
