Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) is a destination where communities connect, learn and thrive. We are looking for customer-focused Libraries & Council Services Assistants to join our team, primarily based at Papatoetoe Library.
In this varied frontline role, no two days are the same. You'll provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers to access library and council services, supporting the delivery of programmes and events, helping with digital and technology queries, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the library.
While this role is primarily based at Papatoetoe Library, flexibility is required as you may be asked to work across other libraries within the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board. Our libraries operate seven days a week, so flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential.
We are recruiting for two part-time positions:
• 22hours per week – (Saturday 6 hours, Monday and Friday 8 hours)
• 38 hours per week – (Saturday 6 hours, Tuesday-Friday 8 hours with alternate late night Wednesday to 7:00pm)

• A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team.
• Confidence learning and assisting customers with technology and digital services.
• A genuine enjoyment of working with tamariki and supporting library programmes and events.
• The ability to confidently step up and support day-to-day library operations when required.
• An ability to connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Pacific language skills would be an advantage.

Salary range: We expect to appoint the successful applicants at a starting salary of $65,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
