He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Ngā Pātaka Kōrero o Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland Libraries) have a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland.  Our Library & Council Service Assistants play a vital part in our library team ensuring that our libraries provide a world-class customer experience that is second to none across the entire Auckland network.
 
You will be working within a library whānau that has a team culture strong in te reo and tikanga Māori, a place where everyone can feel they belong. 
 
No two days are the same, you will greet and assist customers with a variety of queries from assisting customers to access library & council services, supporting with the delivery of programmes and events, digital troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, and general computer queries.

Flexibility, adaptability, superb people skills, a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude are essential.
 
The ideal candidate will:
•    Be willing to help create a whānau environment where everyone works

     together to achieve team goals
•    Enjoy working with people from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds

     particularly Pasifika and whānau Māori
•    Be a quick learner who would be able to assist people with technology queries
•    Love working with tamariki and can assist with programmes
•    Enjoy day-to-day frontline library service and the opportunity to

     connect directly with our library patrons.

We have both permanent part-time and full-time term opportunities available, hours ranging from 20 -  40 hours a week.
 
Many of our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. Every day is a new experience!
