An exciting opportunity now exists to join the Franklin Community Hub team as a Librarian, with a focus on Local History.
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled information professional to provide high-quality information services that support inquiry, creativity, and connection to the rich history of the Franklin Local Board area.
This is a frontline, customer-focused role where you’ll support the community through general council and library services, promote our book collections, and help customers engage with the wide range of digital resources available through Auckland Council and Libraries website, and beyond. A key part of your role will be developing and delivering programmes that celebrate and connect people with the local history in Franklin.
Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work across sites within the Franklin Local Board area - primarily Pukekohe and Waiuku, with the occasional visit to Beachlands.

• Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer services, information services and research support.
• Skilled in readers advisory, and a passion for connecting people with stories, ideas and knowledge.
• High degree of confidence working with technology, e-resources, and online platforms.
• Strong relationship building experience with a deep understanding of the importance of collaborative and community-led approaches to service.
• Recognised library qualification or tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
• Committed to working towards a LIANZA professional registration.
