Moana-Nui-A-Kiwa Pool and Leisure Centre is one of Auckland’s leading recreation facilities, and we’re looking for a passionate and safety-focused Lead Lifeguard to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one.
Your main responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing guidance on and supporting the delivery of aquatics-based programmes
- General lifeguarding duties to ensure customers are safe and looked after
- Supporting the Team Leader with day-to-day operations at the Centre.
This is an on-site position. We are looking to fill a full-time position covering maternity leave till end of May 2026.
As our centre opens 7 days a week, the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial in this role.

You will have a passion for aquatics and a desire to share your knowledge and experience with both customers and colleagues to enhance water safety. As an excellent communicator, you will be dedicated to delivering outstanding aquatic programmes and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Joining an energetic and passionate team, you’ll be a keen team player with a flexible approach and be able to take the initiative to help drive a positive safety culture.
You’ll need to hold a current First Aid Certificate as well as a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate.
