Lead Lifeguard

 

We currently have a permanent full-time position working 40-hours per week based at Otara Pool and Leisure Centre.

Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as Lead Lifeguard you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing guidance on and supporting the delivery of aquatics-based programmes.
  • General lifeguarding duties to ensure customers are safe and looked after; and
  • Supporting the Team Leader with day-to-day operations at the Centre.

It goes without saying that you will have a passion for aquatics, and you will enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety.

You will be an excellent communicator and committed to delivering exceptional aquatic programmes and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.  

Joining an energetic and passionate team, you will be a keen team player with a flexible approach and be able to take initiative to help drive a positive safety culture.
 
Once hired, you’ll need to hold a current First Aid Certificate as well as a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate which we provide training for.

As the centre operates 7 days a week, reliability, and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial
