We’re looking for a friendly, organised and community minded Facility Administrator (Weekend) at Māngere Arts Centre to support the smooth daily operations of our arts and culture facilities. In this role, you’ll be the welcoming face of the centre—providing excellent customer service, supporting facility staff, and ensuring our administrative processes run efficiently. If you enjoy variety, collaboration, and being at the heart of a vibrant community space, this is the role for you.

This is a permanent part time (6-hour) position. Every Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.

This role plays an essential part in helping our facilities deliver great experiences for customers, artists, community groups, and visitors. By providing high-quality admin support and maintaining seamless day to day operations, you help ensure our programmes and services meet the goals of local board plans, The Auckland Plan and community aspirations, including contributing to outcomes for Māori as guided by the Māori Plan for Tāmaki Makaurau. Your work helps create safe, inclusive, welcoming environments where creativity and community can thrive.

 

 

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities
 
•    Delivering friendly, helpful service across in-person, phone, and online channels
•    Resolving enquiries confidently and guide customers clearly when follow-up is needed
•    Promoting self-service tools and support digital literacy using current tech and resources
•    Assist with sales and ticketing enquiries for events held at the venue.

You are a proactive, people focused administrator who enjoys working in a busy, community centred environment. You bring:


•    1–2 years of customer service or admin experience
•    Strong organisation and time management skills
•    Confidence engaging with diverse customers and stakeholders
•    The ability to follow processes, use sound judgement, and adapt to evolving needs
•    Professional communication skills—written, verbal and interpersonal
•    Willingness to support a wide range of tasks and pitch in where needed

We are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary starting from $28.95/hour depending upon experience.
