Join our passionate Environmental Health team and play a vital role in protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of communities across Tāmaki Makaurau.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Manukau office, working 40 hours per week. As an Environmental Health Officer, you’ll carry out inspections, verifications, and licensing of food premises, and health and hygiene businesses. You’ll work with business owners, the public, Police, Public Health, and other partners to promote voluntary compliance and ensure public safety.
You'll contribute to developing educational materials, escalating enforcement matters as needed, and continuously improving systems and service quality. This role is all about meaningful work, community impact, and professional integrity.

You’re a confident and resilient professional with a strong customer service ethic and a deep understanding of environmental health standards. You bring:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Environmental Health
- At least 3 years' experience in inspections, verifications, and licensing
- Accreditation as a verifier through MPI or an ISO-accredited organisation
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A current NZ driver’s licence
- Integrity, adaptability, and pride in delivering meaningful public outcomes

Salary range from $85,000 to $100,000 plus kiwisaver.
