He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We’re excited to welcome our next group of Customer Services Representatives to our Contact Centre team. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our community, supporting Aucklanders and helping keep our city running smoothly.No two days will look the same. The CSR role is a high-demand, fast-paced position where you’ll be the first point of contact for our community. People call to report a wide range of urgent issues, from flooding to animal incidents and more. At times, you may also deal with customers who are upset, distressed, or even angry, which can be mentally intense. This role requires resilience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, but it’s also highly rewarding as you’ll be making a real difference for Aucklanders during critical moments.
As a CSR, you’ll play a key part in delivering excellent customer experiences. You’ll investigate issues, provide accurate and timely information, and work closely with internal teams to resolve matters, ensuring every customer feels heard and supported.

We’re looking for people who bring curiosity, empathy, and a passion for great customer service.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Enjoy learning new systems and technology and feel confident navigating multiple tools at once.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, with a warm and respectful approach on the phone.
- Can stay calm under pressure, think on your feet and use good judgement to solve problems.
- Have 2+ years’ experience supporting customers — whether in a contact centre, retail, hospitality, community services, volunteering or any other people-focused environment.
- Bring resilience, reliability and a positive attitude to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Can type a minimum of 35 words per minute to help keep pace with customer enquiries.
We’ll support you with comprehensive training to build your skills and confidence as you step into the role.
We are a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week contact centre with full-time and part-time positions available! Check out the available shifts below and choose your preferred shifts based on what suits your schedule. (Please note: Shift start and end times may vary based on business needs, with 3 weeks' notice provided for any changes.) All successful recruits must be available for six (6) weeks of full-time training, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m on site at Civic Building, Manukau.
