We are looking for an experienced Communities Programme Specialist to join our dedicated team. We pride ourselves on providing innovative and responsive programmes that include events, workshops, and classes. In this role, you will provide professional leadership and subject matter expertise in the development and delivery of highly engaging and impactful programmes of activities and experiences.
Among others, your day-to-day duties will be to:
• Respond to the needs and priorities of the Manurewa local board and local
communities by creating compelling programme opportunities.
• Engage key audiences and drive high levels of participation
and recommendation.
• Empower and enable our diverse community by building networks and
creating opportunities & partnerships
• Identifying and investing in smart and innovative approaches and
working alongside programme partners

He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspired and excited about working with our diverse community. You will have previous experience in leading and successfully delivering community-based initiatives along with in-depth knowledge of programme planning & project management methodologies. Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills are a must as well as an ability to foster community engagement.
You’ll also understand the importance of relationships with Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau and are committed to the recognition of te ao Māori in this role.

This is a permanent full-time position, working generally Monday to Friday with the occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends based on the programming needs. This role is based at Nathan Homestead Manurewa, with the ability to work across the Manurewa Local Board.
