Our Leisure Centres play a fundamental role in our goal to get "More Aucklanders, More Active, More Often". 

We are looking for a proactive leader craving an opportunity to showcase their ability to lead a large team at Allan Brewster Leisure Centre and be the driving force behind delivering operational excellence that meets the needs of the community. 

 

In this busy role, you will be managing a facility with teams in Fitness, Recreation, and Customer Support functions. Our Allan Brewster Centre is not just a Recreation Centre but also a community hub for all walks of life. Our South Auckland communities bring a diverse range of people through the door and our ideal candidate would be able to lead and be engaged with our community.

 

The Key to this role will be your excellent people relationship skills, with an ability to unite teams and bring people together towards achieving goals. 

As we head into the holiday period, we will be reviewing applications in January 2025 and shortlisted candidates can be expected to be contacted the week of 20th January 2025.


He kōrero mōu: About you 

You will have experience successfully managing and operating a recreational facility or customer service-oriented team, or solid recreation industry experience. 

 

A practical knowledge of business planning, monitoring and operational management will come with you, alongside a proven track record in developing, maintaining, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, ideally from the community sector. We are after a people person who can motivate and drive our team to meet our business KPI’s and strive for excellence!

 

Operational excellence and fiscal responsibility are additional key drivers for this role. Not only delivering sustainable financial results but seeking to increase performance and grow the business via continuous improvement initiatives as well as proposing new programmes to target the local needs of our community.
