He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our Leisure Centres more popular than ever in East and South Auckland, and as a team member, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple roles within our Leisure centres. Your main role can be as a Recreation Assistant or a Fitness Instructor, but you’ll also have the opportunity to take on additional roles such as Customer Support and more. 


By taking on roles such as Customer Support, you’ll have the opportunity to pick up more shifts than you would solely as a Lifeguard, so you can flex your hours up or down to suit your availability week-to-week.


As a casual team member, you will deliver outstanding, safe, and diverse customer experiences across our pool and leisure facilities and contribute to our goal to enable Aucklanders to Get Active Their Way.

Excellent communication skills, maturity, and reliability are key in this role as is being practically minded and using your initiative where required. 


The ideal applicant for a Recreation focused position will be passionate about sports and recreation as well as possessing or working towards obtaining a relevant qualification within the field. 


In a Fitness Instructing role, a recognised fitness related qualification is required and knowledge of fitness training including fitness testing and monitoring of clients is advantageous, also holding a current REP's Certificate, Exercise Consultant Level 2, and First Aid Certificate.

We have multiple casual opportunities across our pool and leisure centres in varying functions. Our centres are open 7 days a week so flexibility will be crucial, with early morning shifts from 5:00 am and late shifts up to 10:00 pm as well as weekends.

*Fitness Locations: Allan Brewster (Papatoetoe), Howick, Lloyd Elsmore (Pakuranga), Marina (Half-Moon Bay), Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa (Mangere), Manurewa, Otara, 
*Recreation Locations: Allan Brewster (Papatoetoe), Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa (Mangere), Manurewa, Otara, Outdoor Experience (Otara), and Te Matariki Clendon.


Please note, this role requires attendance of short, mandatory training sessions which take place from September through to October, so availability around this time is essential.
