Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for a Casual Learn to Swim Instructor to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!
Based at Moana-Nui-A-Kiwa Pools and Leisure Centre, this is a fantastic job where you can gain a formal qualification teaching people the basic principles of how to swim, maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors - we'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.
We would love to hear from those who are interested in Casaul work. All training is provided.
Please note that if you do not have your AUSTSWIM qualification already, you will be required to attend the following training dates below and Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm:

He kōrero mōu: About you
You are a great swimmer, instructor, and customer service superstar. You will have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and can communicate well with members of the public. Just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference.
If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.

We strongly encourage upskilling and training. Once you are hired, you will have the opportunity to pick up extra hours in a variety of roles, such as Lifeguard, Customer Service Rep, Recreation Assistant and more.

Pay rate: $27.80 /hr
Auckland Council is committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. This role is classified as a Children's Worker role under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.
