He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We are seeking Casual Gallery Assistants to assist with the day to day running of our arts venues across the Manurewa/Papakura Local boards, facilitating high-quality programmes and exhibitions with a strong community focus.
A key component of this role is to provide outstanding customer service and to liaise with the general public, community organisations, artists, and contractors. You will be expected to help with operations of the venues, support exhibition installations and openings, and deliver engaging public programmes.
We are looking to fill 2x casual roles; flexibility will be required.
He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful, you will have a strong understanding of the visual arts and enjoy working in a gallery environment and have experience in event delivery. The role also requires confidence and experience in a front-line and coordination position of an arts and culture facility. Your organisational and administrative skills will impress!
The role calls for a positive outlook, excellent people skills, experience working with a wide range of people and being able to deliver outstanding customer service with a 'can-do' attitude.

Nathan Homestead Pukepuke, is a beautiful heritage arts building nestled in David Nathan Park in Manurewa. We pride ourselves on being a vibrant hub for the community, offering a diverse range of services including venue hire, events, holiday programmes, exhibitions, and workshops.
The other is Papakura Art Gallery, situated in a refurbished fire station in Papakura which hosts a diverse programme of quality contemporary art exhibitions, featuring a range of art forms by local, national and international artists - both emerging and established. The focus of the gallery is to support the enrichment of local culture and community development. Through projects and events connected to exhibitions the gallery's communities are exposed to creative practice through direct engagement.
