He angitūtanga: The opportunity
This is a hands-on regulatory role focused on protecting public safety, promoting responsible dog ownership and ensuring compliance with the Dog Control Act 1996 and other relevant legislation. You’ll work across Tāmaki Makaurau responding to animal-related complaints and incidents, investigating dog attacks, assessing risk and taking appropriate compliance and enforcement action.
 
You will work in the community, tackling tasks with the support of a large team. You will also assist in prosecutions and intelligence lead proactive patrols.   

This role is a variable morning and evening roster requiring some weekend and on-call availability covering the South Auckland area. Office is based in Manukau.

We need a conscientious person like you to ensure public safety and compliance.  The key to your success is a prompt response to calls for assistance and providing exceptional service.
 
This role suits individuals with public-facing compliance backgrounds, who demonstrate strong customer service and conflict management skills, a calm approach to resolving situations, and dealing with aggressive dogs and other animals.   
 
A current, full clean NZ driver’s licence is required.

Salary range: $82,917 plus shift and on-call allowances. Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
