Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is looking for an experienced senior auditor who would like to further strengthen their skills and experience in internal assurance across the public sector, or an auditor looking for the next step up in their internal auditing career. A busy and varied role, you will be a key contributor in providing high quality Internal Audit services and assurance to our organisation.


As TAU’s Senior Auditor you will be working across an exciting portfolio of high profile brands such as the Auckland Zoo, New Zealand Maritime Museum, the Auckland Art Gallery and events and venues such as Aotea Centre, Auckland Stadiums and Conventions.    


You will have the opportunity to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls for ensuring financial data reliability, operational efficiency and effectiveness, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the safeguarding of assets to support the delivery of the Assurance Services Strategy and where you will ensure the effective development and implementation of the Audit and Probity work programme.


Work closely with senior management to build organisation awareness, understanding and maturity of what good controls look like and support the business to develop and implement self-assurance approaches. 


He kōrero mōu: About you


  • Degree qualified - Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor or similar
  • 5 years’ relevant work experience in internal / external audit, risk management, or process improvement within a complex public or private sector environment.
  • Experienced in supervising and coaching others.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to partner with business units to implement solutions.
  • First-class written and oral communication skills
  • Focused on customer service and improving the way things are done!
