Our Risk and Assurance team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor to join the team. In this role you will lead the planning, development, execution and delivery of a variety of audit activities, within Auckland Council and applicable CCOs. 
 
Internal Audit plays a vital role in ensuing council adopts processes, practices and behaviour that enhances and promotes our values and interests. In maintaining impartiality, independence, and transparency, overseeing conflict of interest practices is also an essential aspect of this role.  You will have exposure to our leadership team and Audit and Risk Committee through opportunity to prepare and present governance papers.

He kōrero mōu: About you
 

Certainly, you will have sound understanding of organisational strategy, business needs, key drivers and the surrounding political environment, as well as the ability to understand public sector risks and legislative requirements.
 
With a degree level qualification in business or other relevant discipline a professional qualification in a relevant field such as Certified Internal Auditor, NZICA or ISACA is desirable.
 
You will have proven facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships at senior levels.
 
With more than 7 years’ experience of internal/external audit or risk management in a complex local government, public or private sector environment is highly desirable.
