Our Physical Security Advisory Service currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Security Specialist to join the team.  You will support the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and all Aucklanders, as part of the physical security advisory team who are responsible for providing protective security advice across the organisation, ensuring the physical safety of employees and the security of buildings. This role will see you investigating a range of physical security incidents and threats. You’ll compile detailed risk assessment reviews on council owned facilities and provide recommendations which support strong crime prevention strategies. You’ll also record, analyse and report on internal security trends and provide compelling evidential data to support adoption of security improvements.

You have a strong security background likely gained from time spent in the police, security or risk management field. This experience has ingrained your discipline, common sense and practical know how with the ability to work effectively alone or with a team. You have working knowledge of risk management and security standards. You have strong investigative experience coupled with sharp analysis and database skills. Your communication skills are polished and you’re at ease writing and collating reports and presenting to a variety of audiences.The  position description is available to view by clicking here* Due to the nature of the role, a current and relevant NZ Driver’s licence is required.
