Senior Resource Management Planner - Healthy Waters

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters department has an opportunity for a Senior Resource Management Planner or Policy Planner within the Resource Management team. 
Please note, this role is internally referred to as a Senior Healthy Waters Specialist.

 

This role requires an understanding of NZ resource management policy planning & processes, and the passion and ability to receive relevant technical information and effectively advocate for appropriate stormwater management and flood prevention provisions in unitary plan changes and legislative reform. 

 

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Provide specialist stormwater and planning input into Auckland Unitary Plan Changes and Spatial Plans. 
  • Provide input into submissions on legislative change, for example National Policy Statements, RMA reform, and Three Water reform
  • Provide guidance and general advice to meet Healthy Waters objectives and other key stakeholder objectives
  • Promote Te Mauri o te Wai and Māori Outcomes.

If you have a passion for achieving long term positive environmental outcomes we would like to hear from you!

 

We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • A post-graduate qualification in: Resource Management Planning, Engineering or Science.
  • 7+ years experience in three waters infrastructure, or consenting, or resource management, or planning policy, or equivalent 
  • Engagement and stakeholder management
