Amotai is an Intermediary Service that supports and advocates for supplier diversity within private and public sectors, including private businesses, government agencies, Iwi and Pasifika groups.


Amotai operates throughout Aotearoa connecting Buying organisations (e.g. government agencies, corporates and NGOs) seeking to engage with Māori and Pasifika businesses. Due to an internal move, we are seeking a new passionate and driven Regional Relationship Manager to join our team.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity


Amotai is an economic initiative that was seeded with Auckland Council and has now expanded throughout the regions with the support of Central Government. We have a position available, ideally based near Southland supporting our buyers and businesses across Te Waipounamu.


Amotai focuses on identifying opportunities in the supply chain for Māori and Pasifika. Our mission is to increase the number, capability and scale of Māori and Pasifika businesses with clients and buyers wanting to purchase goods, services and works.


Reporting to the Manukura, you will work closely with Māori and Pasifika businesses to increase their levels of business activity. You will support them to build relationships and connect with one another to drive the development of a prosperous and sustainable Māori and Pasifika business sector in Aotearoa. 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you


Your background will demonstrate significant experience working across the Māori and Pasifika business sector in a similar role where you have engaged at all levels. A tertiary qualification in a relevant area is highly desirable. 


With your demonstrated experience in working across Māori and/or Pasifika businesses sectors you will be able to engage at all levels within buyer organisations. 


Your commercial acumen and knowledge of small to medium business enterprises as well as your understanding of Indigenous societies and cultures will be key to uplifting Māori and Pasifika businesses and increasing their market share in New Zealand’s economy. This knowledge and experience will ensure you understand the issues affecting Māori and Pasifika people in business.


Your well-developed interpersonal skills and your positive approach to relationship management will ensure you are able to build effective relationships across the Amotai group and with our members, partners, and suppliers. 
You will have a commitment to grappling with complex socio-economic issues and experience in making a difference in business for Māori and Pacific people.
