The Purchasing team within our Procurement Department has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Support Coordinator to join us at Auckland Council. This is a full-time, permanent position offering you the chance to contribute to the delivery of essential services across Tāmaki Makaurau.
As a Purchasing Support Coordinator, you will provide high-quality purchasing support for procurement activities across Auckland Council, helping to minimise time, cost and risk.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Action purchasing tasks through SAP, including purchase order creation and management, new vendor setup requests and payment processing
- Engage and maintain positive relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Support project managers by investigating purchase order commitments
- Use your purchasing system expertise to provide feedback and test system upgrades as part of continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful in this position, you will have 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role and be confident in applying your knowledge in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with the local government sector would be advantageous.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience using SAP (essential)
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
