The Purchasing team within our Procurement Department has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Support Coordinator to join us at Auckland Council. This is a full-time, permanent position offering you the chance to contribute to the delivery of essential services across Tāmaki Makaurau.

As a Purchasing Support Coordinator, you will provide high-quality purchasing support for procurement activities across Auckland Council, helping to minimise time, cost and risk.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Action purchasing tasks through SAP, including purchase order creation and management, new vendor setup requests and payment processing
  • Engage and maintain positive relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Support project managers by investigating purchase order commitments
  • Use your purchasing system expertise to provide feedback and test system upgrades as part of continuous improvement initiatives

 

He kōrero mōu: About you

To be successful in this position, you will have 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role and be confident in applying your knowledge in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with the local government sector would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience using SAP (essential)
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
