Our dedicated team specializes in governance, strategy, collaboration, programme management, and finance, providing innovative funding solutions for infrastructure developments.

 

As an integral part of the Council's infrastructure development and funding solutions, the Programme Infrastructure Funding and Finance team plays a vital role. 

We link together infrastructure planning, land use and funding, helping to solve what infrastructure we need for Auckland to grow, and how to pay for it.

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to join our team and ensure that infrastructure projects are identified, financed, funded, and developed promptly to facilitate the significant growth we envision. This role entails close collaboration with Crown Agencies, developers, infrastructure providers, and Council specialists.

By seizing this opportunity, you will be at the forefront of programmes that encompass large-scale greenfields developments and brownfields intensification. You will collaborate with Crown and Government Agencies, Council Controlled Organisations, Land Developers, and Contractors to support the pace and magnitude of Auckland's housing and employment growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify funding and financing solutions for infrastructure provision.
  • Negotiate these solutions with developers, Crown Agencies, and other relevant parties, as appropriate.
  • Manage programme and project budgets effectively.
  • Monitor and assist in the delivery of development programmes in accordance with development agreements.
  • Report, escalate, and follow up on progress issues and project risks.
  • Provide reports to Council, committees, and executives, and contribute to the preparation of presentations and communication materials.

He kōrero mōu: About you
This role requires experience in similar programme management, consulting, development planning and/or infrastructure development. You have the knowledge, and or the skills to learn about the integrated built environment – infrastructure development, local government, financing and funding aspects and agreements. 
 
We will be looking for specific experience with:

  • Programme management, infrastructure development, urban planning, or finance and funding solutions of large-scale infrastructure development programmes
  • Knowledge and understanding of the economics of infrastructure and land development,
  • Finding and negotiating solutions in a complex, legislative, policy and funding driven environment
