ServiceNow Platform Specialist

Take ownership of a major enterprise ServiceNow environment and help shape how the platform evolves across Auckland Council.

This is an opportunity for an experienced ServiceNow specialist who enjoys getting hands on with the platform, solving complex problems and building solutions that genuinely improve how technology services are delivered.

You will work across ServiceNow development, automation, integrations and platform optimisation, with exposure to a large and complex technology ecosystem supporting services across Tāmaki Makaurau.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Technology Services is looking for an experienced ServiceNow Platform Specialist to join our Platform Engineering team.

This is more than a platform administration role. You will have the opportunity to influence how ServiceNow is designed, developed and continuously improved across a large enterprise environment.

Working alongside service owners, architects and technology teams, you will develop and enhance ServiceNow capabilities that simplify processes, improve service delivery and increase automation across the organisation.

You could expect to work across:

• ServiceNow platform administration, configuration and development
• ITSM, ITOM, CMDB and other ServiceNow capabilities
• Workflow and process automation using Flow Designer and Integration Hub
• Business rules, scripting and platform development
• Enterprise integrations and APIs
• Platform upgrades, patches and lifecycle management
• CMDB optimisation and Discovery
• Platform security, performance and availability
• Integrations with enterprise and cloud platforms
• Identifying new opportunities to automate and simplify the way we work

You will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of technologies and stakeholders while contributing to the future direction and maturity of Auckland Council’s ServiceNow platform.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are an experienced ServiceNow professional who enjoys getting beneath the surface of a platform, understanding how things work and finding better ways to design, automate and integrate services.

You will be comfortable operating in a large enterprise environment and bring strong technical ServiceNow capability alongside the ability to work collaboratively with architects, service owners and delivery teams.

We are particularly interested in experience with:

• 5+ years of hands on ServiceNow administration and platform development
• ITSM
• CMDB and Discovery
• Service Catalogue
• Flow Designer
• Integration Hub
• API integrations
• ITIL practices and principles
• Large enterprise environments

Experience in the following would be an advantage:

• ServiceNow CSA or CAD certification
• JavaScript development
• Automation and scripting
• Azure, SAP or MuleSoft integrations
