Auckland’s waterfront and city spaces host some of the most exciting and impactful events and activations in the region—from cultural celebrations and community activations to one-off public gatherings. As our new Placemaking Logistics Advisor, you’ll help make these events possible by overseeing their safe, smooth, and engaging delivery.
This role is part of the Placemaking team within our Community Engagement unit. You’ll be responsible for coordinating small to medium-scale events and activations across key council locations, including managing event enquiries, working with internal teams, and guiding external organisers through site approvals and logistics. You’ll also play a key role in refining systems and processes to support the evolving needs of both council and community.
This is a hands-on, relationship-based role. You’ll bring together a broad network—internal partners, suppliers, service providers and community members—to help shape welcoming public experiences. Your mix of operational know-how and calm under pressure will ensure high-quality delivery that reflects Auckland Council’s values.

- This is a Fixed Term Full-Time position (ending 17th April 2026) covering parental leave.
- This is a hybrid position.
He kōrero mōu: About you
We’re after someone with:
- At least 7 years’ experience in event delivery, logistics or production
- Strong project coordination skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- A customer-focused mindset and ability to lead on event logistics
- Sound judgement, risk awareness, and an eye for continuous improvement
- NCEA level 3 or event management/coordination qualification or significant vocational experience
- Full clean NZ driver’s license required or other alternative way of travelling across the region
